Support for SleepTimer

Compatibility with Music Players

SleepTimer has been tested to work with the built in music app, Pandora, Slacker Radio, AccuRadio, RadioTime, Net2Streams, Grooveshark, DrPodder, Stitcher, and Music Player (Remix). It also works with the streaming music player with sites such as icecast.org.

It has been tested to work with video players as well, such as the Youtube app and Sprint TV.

There has been one report that SleepTimer does not work with Spotify. Unfortunately, as this app is not available in the United States, this claim can not be verified. At this time, we would not reccomend purchasing SleepTimer if you plan to use it only with Spotify.

The method which SleepTimer uses to stop other players should, in theory, work with all media players for webOS. If you find that a certain player not listed here is either compatible or not compatible with SleepTimer, or if you have a question about a particular player not listed here, please feel free to email support.

Compatibility with Slacker Radio

An Issue which could affect SleepTimer’s performance with Slacker Radio was identified. This issue has been corrected with version 1.2.1. If the timer went off while Slacker Radio was changing songs, it was possible that the music could continue after it finished loading the next song. This was due to the long delay between songs. Version 1.2.1 of SleepTimer attempts to stop any music that is being played for approximately 15 seconds after the timer goes off. This ensures compatibility with Slacker Radio and Grooveshark which both have very long delays between songs.

Does SleepTimer affect wake up alarms?

No, it does not. If an alarm goes off, and SleepTimer is triggered, the alarm will not be silenced. This has only been tested with the Clock app that comes with webOS. Other alarm apps may not behave the same way. If you are concerned about a particular app, please contact support and it will be tested.

Strange time and error after with first use of app

Version 2.0.0 appears to have a bug which some users are reporting as a strange number showing up in the time picker after installing the app for the first time. If you try to enable SleepTimer with this time, you will recieve the following error:

“ERROR: Invalid format for ‘timout/set’… Please contact support to let them know what happened to create this error. Check the help menu for contact information.”

To resolve this, simply tap on “pick time” and select any of the preset timers. The error should not occur again after this. This issue is currently being looked into, and will be corrected in a future release soon.

**Update – 10/28/2010 – This issue has been resolved. Version 2.0.1 corrects the problem, and has been submitted to the App Catalog. It should show up in the App Catalog within a few days.
